It is called Thrifty!

I am looking for people who are willing to have their photo taken in my studio. It does not matter if you think of yourself as a model or not. It is more important that you will have fun and enjoy having your picture taken.

Here are the details:

The "models" (you?) are to go to a thrift store and buy three outfits to be photographed in.

These are the "Thrifty" rules:

Only one trip to one thrift store is allowed. Once you decide to go in you must commit to that store. No looking around and then leaving and trying again later or a different store.

Spend no more than $30.00. Less if you can. I will reimburse you. I would like to keep the clothes as well but that is negotiable.

Get three outfits. You can define these as your personality and the stores price/availability of items dictates but you must get three outfits that meet these criteria:
1) Dressy 2) Casual 3) Sexy

Thats it! Sounds fun doesnt it? If you are interested or have any questions please post comments below.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/trying-new-things.html"><rss:title>Trying New Things</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/trying-new-things.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Cannon Photography Photography camera lens nikon rental trust</dc:subject>

If you are anything like me you enjoy playing with new toys.
There is a way to play with that $6,000 lens. Rent it! I have tried many different online rental places and I think that I have found the best. I have used them many times and I know from experience that they are 100% into making sure their customers are happy.

It was (not surprisingly) poorly written and did not convey what I was intending at all. So here is what I meant to say:

I have a new home.

I was at my last job for five years and can hardly remember starting there. So I really had no idea what to expect walking in to this new job. I was feeling a little insecure. The process of meeting new people and having them see my work was a little intimidating. Not to mention the fact that I was now part of a team of designers rather than the only designer. I was now with a bunch of talented people. I was nervous about finding my way and (for the lack of any better way to say it) proving myself.

Now that I have been there for a couple of weeks I can say that I am really liking it. Though I was a little insecure and lost-feeling my first week I am feeling much better. I really like the people I am working with and the things that I am doing are new and exciting to me.Not only that but I feel I am contributing in a good way. :)

It's true that I am a bit nerdy and I think that there is proof of this in the fact that I am so excited about the user testing we are bout to do. There are several designers on the team I am on and everyone has created a unique and creative solution to the problem presented to us. The testing will allow the users to define and determine not only how they will go through the web pages we are creating but how they will be designed in the end. The whole thing is an awesome and unique opportunity and I cant wait to see/hear what strangers are going to see and think. It is really cool.

As it is now. I love going to work. I look forward to doing my job and I hope to learn, grow and do much more in the future. It's good.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/byg-bean.html"><rss:title>Byg Bean</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/byg-bean.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

It is a strange thing. In fact is was completely amazing. There is so much going on in my brain that I really have no words. If I were to make an actual attempt to explain it would come out as gibberish.

But, here it is. Amazing and wiggly. My new friend.

I am finding that I have no real limit as to what that can be. Some days it's color some days it's central Ohio polotics other days it's nothing. Though I make it sound like it is completely arbitrary I am pretty sure that it is not. I've noticed that the topics tend to ebb and flow based off of what I am doing in both my real life and my work life. The closest likeness I can find is something like Twitter Trends, the same word(s) keep popping up in different ways and in different contexts. It would be interesting to see what it is that I am doing, develop a way to track the data of my apparent random pursuit of interests. Have it display in a tag cloud and be broken down into selectable time frames...

The fist problem I see with this is that there is no singular way that I interact with the current interest I have. One minute it could be what I am reading on the internets and the next could be a conversation I'm having on the phone that is directly after that I pick up an interesting periodical.

I see no real way of being able to tag, relate, and track all of this information without having to work very hard on it. In the end it would take away from the study because the tracking of all the data would leave no time to do what was supposed to be tracked.

See... I'm very easily distracted. This whole thing was not at all what I intended to post about.

What I have been taken by lately is "editing video". It is fun but there is a LOT to learn. I am working on something that I hope to have done soon. Perhaps I will post a follow up.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/such-a-wimp.html"><rss:title>Such a wimp!</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/such-a-wimp.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Photography mac nikon shutter shutter actuations</dc:subject>
How to find the actuations on a Nikon D200 using a Mac.
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/columbus-crew-pictures.html"><rss:title>Columbus Crew Pictures</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/columbus-crew-pictures.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Columbus Columbus Crew Journalism Ohio Photography Photography Work</dc:subject>

Photo by Dorn BygI have posted some soccer pictures taken at the most recent Columbus Crew game. Please let me know what you think. Your comments are more than welcome.

This year I have had the privilege of a press pass to Crew Stadium. I have been shooting for a local Columbus newspaper for a couple of years now. Though most my assigned were to shoot OSU sports there was some interest in the Crew after they won the MLS Cup in 2008. That resulted in me getting a pass. Shooting for a paper is great fun and I hope to not only continue doing that but shooting the Crew for a long time.

In the future I would like to try to get my foot in the door so I can shoot for some wire services. It seems to be difficult task. I have gathered that not only do you have to be a tremendous photographer but you have to know who, where and how in a perfect combination. "Who" is never clearly defined, "where" is easier to know but hard to get to and "how" is just a matter of practice and time. When mixed all together and applied to what is what is expected from you (the photographer) it makes for a hard target to hit. It will be some work but it's work that I am willing and capable of doing. I'll keep you posed as things progress.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/new-studio-weeeeeee.html"><rss:title>New Studio Weeeeeee!</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.dornbyg.com/blog/new-studio-weeeeeee.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Photography Photography Studio Work</dc:subject>

Space! The new fronteer...I am proud to say that I (and two others) have a studio space at Junction View Studios. It is fantastic to have a place that is dedicated to nothing but photography. Though it is a little small there are so many plusses that any complication that may arise as a result is tollerable at worst. So what are some of these plusses?

The place (Junction View) is full of creatve and amazing artists that are most always hard at work.

These "hard working artists" are darned cool folks.

There is access 24—7.

Did I mention that it is entirely dedicated to photography

The other two that I am sharing the space with will teach me bunches.

There is more to the list but that's all that I have time for now and I dont want to start sounding like I am bragging. :) I would like to say Thank You to Keven Ward. You are the most swell!

Well, if you cant tell I am pretty darned excited about this. My mind is going nut with the possabilities. So! If you of someone you know whant to come get your picture taken... Bring it!

Source: Junctionview Studios (http://www.junctionviewstudios.com/info.html)

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
